Managing Taxonomies

With Aente, it becomes significantly easier to manage the taxonomies of providers and locations who are part of your account’s staff. It facilitates the separation and classification of these users by their respective taxonomies from the moment their accounts are created. In addition to organizing, the customer search by providers is streamlined when their taxonomies are clearly defined.
Creating a taxonomy
To start creating a taxonomy, you must first meet a few prerequisites, which are:
- You must have a provider account.
- Possess a root account.
- Your provider account must be assigned a role with the appropriate permissions for creating taxonomies, including the following:

- Taxonomy Get Self / Get All
- Taxonomy Show
- Taxonomy Create
- Taxonomy Update / Update All
Once all the necessary settings are in place, follow these steps to create a taxonomy:
- Click on the module labeled “Operational”.
- After entering the module, select the option “Taxonomies”.
- Click the blue button to start creating a new taxonomy.
- Upon accessing the creation form for Taxonomies, you can begin filling out the required fields. These fields are sufficient to correctly create a Taxonomies, and they include: Occupation Code | Name | Country.
Note: The country field is useful for precisely separating taxonomies in each country. For instance, if the United States is selected, only providers from the United States can be linked to that taxonomy, and so on.
- After ensuring that all the required fields have been filled out, simply click the blue button labeled “Create Taxonomy”, and that’s it! Your taxonomy will be successfully registered in the system.
Editing a Taxonomy
To start editing a taxonomy, you must first meet a few prerequisites, which are:
- You must have a provider account. Possess a root account.
- Your provider account must be assigned a role with the appropriate permissions to edit taxonomies, including the following:

- Taxonomy Get Self / Get All
- Taxonomy Show
- Taxonomy Update / Update All
Once all the necessary settings are in place, follow these steps to edit a taxonomy:
- Click on the module labeled “Operational”.
- After entering the module, select the option “Taxonomies”.
- When you see the list of taxonomies, fill in the search field with the name of the taxonomy you want to edit.
- If a taxonomy with the searched name exists, the system will return options that match the searched name.
- After locating the taxonomy you want, click on it.
- At this point, the system will show you the taxonomy form filled with the information provided when it was created.
- Now, simply delete the information from the desired field and enter the new data.
Example: If the Name field needs to be changed because the taxonomy name has changed, just delete the old name and provide the new one.
- Once all the necessary information has been edited, click the blue button labeled “Update taxonomy” and that’s it! Your taxonomy will be successfully updated in the system.
Deleting a Taxonomy
Note: Nothing is deleted from the system; everything that is “deleted” is actually a status change. Once an item has been deleted, you may recover and change the status back to active.

- Your provider account must be assigned a role with the appropriate permissions to delete taxonomies, including the following:

- Taxonomy Show
- Taxonomy Delete All
- Taxonomy Update All
Once all the necessary settings are in place, follow these steps to delete a taxonomy:
- Click on the module labeled “Operational”.
- After entering the module, select the option “Taxonomies”.
- When you see the list of taxonomies, fill in the search field with the name of the taxonomy you want.
- If a taxonomy with the searched name exists, the system will return options that match the searched name.
- After locating the taxonomy you want, click on it.
- At this point, the system will show you the taxonomy form filled with the information provided when it was created.
- Now, simply click on the “Delete Taxonomy” option, and that’s it! The taxonomy is now properly deleted from your list of taxonomies.
Example: If the deleted taxonomy was associated with a provider, it will automatically be unlinked from them.
Restoring a Taxonomy
To start restoring a taxonomy, you must first meet a few prerequisites, which are:
- You must have a provider account.
- Possess a root account.
- Your provider account must be assigned a role with the appropriate permissions to restore taxonomies, including the following:

- Taxonomy Get Self / Get All
- Taxonomy Restore All
- Taxonomy Show
- Taxonomy Update All
Once all the necessary settings are in place, follow these steps to restore a taxonomy:
- Click on the module labeled “Operational”.
- After entering the module, select the option “Taxonomies”.
- At this point, you will need to adjust the filter to display only deleted taxonomies by selecting the option “Only Trashed”.
- After executing the previous step, the system will show you all the taxonomies that have been deleted. Fill in the search field with the name of the taxonomy you wish to restore.
- When you find the taxonomy, click on the option shown in the list.
- Upon seeing the yellow card above the form, click “Restore”.
- That’s it! Now the taxonomy that was previously deleted is back on your list of active taxonomies and can be used again without any issues.
