Managing Associated Laboratories

Within Aente, we work with associated laboratories in conjunction with locations, streamlining the management of laboratories, clinics, and other organizations that collaborate with the main location. The creation, editing, and organization of these entities is straightforward and highly intuitive. Throughout this manual, all aspects that make associated laboratories an essential tool for your daily operations will be demonstrated.
Creating Associated Laboratories
To begin creating an associated laboratory, certain prerequisites must be met, as outlined below:
- You must have a provider account.
- Your provider account must be assigned a role with the appropriate permissions for creating associated laboratories, including the following:

- Associated Lab Get Self / Get All
- Associated Lab Show
- Associated Lab Create
- Associated Lab Update / Update All
Once all necessary configurations are in place, you can proceed with the steps below to create an associated laboratory:
- Click on the module labeled “Operational.”
- After entering the module, select the option “Associated Labs.”
- Click the blue button to initiate the creation of a new associated laboratory.
- Upon accessing the creation form for associated laboratories, you can begin filling out the required fields. These fields are sufficient to correctly create a laboratory, and they include: Name | Code | Postal Code | Address Line 1 | State | City | Approved By | Report Doctor.
Note: Although filling out the optional fields is not mandatory, doing so is important for ensuring that your business benefits from a wider range of essential validations.
- After ensuring that all the required fields have been filled out, simply click the blue button labeled “Create Associated Labs”, and that’s it! Your laboratory will be successfully registered in the system.
Editing Associated Laboratories
To begin editing an associated laboratory, you must first meet the following prerequisites:
- You must have a provider account.
- Your provider account must be assigned a role with the appropriate permissions for editing associated laboratories, including the following:

- Associated Lab Get Self / Get All
- Associated Lab Show
- Associated Lab Update / Update All
Once all necessary configurations are in place, you can proceed with the steps below to edit an associated laboratory:
- Click on the module labeled “Operational.”
- After entering the module, select the option “Associated Labs.”
- When the list of associated laboratories appears, enter the name of the laboratory you wish to edit in the search field.
- If a laboratory matching the searched name exists, the system will display options corresponding to your search.
- After locating the desired laboratory, click on it.
- At this point, the system will display the associated laboratory’s form, pre-filled with the information provided at the time of its creation.
- Now, simply delete the information from the desired field and enter the new data.
Example: If the “Name” field needs to be changed because the laboratory has a new name, just delete the old name and provide the new one.
- Once all the necessary information has been edited, click the blue button labeled “Update Associated Labs,” and that’s it! Your laboratory will be successfully updated in the system.
Deleting Associated Laboratories
Note: Nothing is deleted from the system and everything that is “deleted” is actually a status change. Once an item has been deleted your may recover and change the status back to active.
To begin deleting an associated laboratory, you must first meet the following prerequisites:
- You must have a provider account.
- Your provider account must be assigned a role with the appropriate permissions for deleting associated laboratories, including the following:

- Associated Lab Get Self / Get All
- Associated Lab Show
- Associated Lab Update / Update All
- Associated Lab Delete / Delete All
Once all necessary configurations are in place, you can proceed with the steps below to delete an associated laboratory:
- Click on the module labeled “Operational.”
- After entering the module, select the option “Associated Labs.”
- When the list of associated laboratories appears, enter the name of the laboratory you wish to delete in the search field.
- If a laboratory matching the searched name exists, the system will display options corresponding to your search.
- After locating the desired laboratory, click on it.
- At this point, the system will display the associated laboratory’s form, pre-filled with the information provided at the time of its creation.
- Now, simply click on the “Delete Associated Lab” option, and that’s it! The laboratory will be successfully removed from your list of laboratories.
Example: If the deleted laboratory is associated with any location, it will not be automatically unlinked due to audit and action log requirements. The removal/editing of these laboratories must be done manually.
Restoring Associated Laboratories
To begin restoring an associated laboratory, you must first meet the following prerequisites:
- You must have a provider account.
- Your provider account must be assigned a role with the appropriate permissions for restoring associated laboratories, including the following:

- Associated Lab Get Self / Get All
- Associated Lab Show
- Associated Lab Update / Update All
- Associated Lab Restore / Restore All
Once all necessary configurations are in place, you can proceed with the steps below to restore an associated laboratory:
- Click on the module labeled “Operational.”
- After entering the module, select the option “Associated Labs.”
- At this point, you will need to adjust the filter to display only deleted laboratories by selecting the option “Only Trashed.”
- After completing the previous step, the system will display all laboratories that were once part of your operations but are now deleted. Enter the name of the laboratory you wish to restore in the search field.
- When you locate the desired laboratory, click on the option shown in the list.
- Upon seeing the yellow card above the form, click on “Restore.”
- That’s it! The laboratory that was previously deleted has now been restored to your list of active laboratories and can be used without issue.
Linking Associated Laboratories to Locations
To begin linking an associated laboratory to a location, you must first meet the following prerequisites:
- You must have a provider account.
- Your provider account must be assigned a role with the appropriate permissions for managing associated laboratories, including deletion.

- Your account must have associated laboratories that are created and active.
Once all the necessary configurations are in place, you can follow the steps below to link an associated laboratory:
- Click on the module labeled “Operational.”
- After entering the module, select the option “Locations.”
- Click the blue button to start creating one or more locations.
- When the location creation form is displayed, look for the field named “Associated Lab” and click on it.
- If your profile and account meet the prerequisites, a list of all laboratories will be shown. Select the laboratory you wish to link to the location.
- That’s it! The associated laboratory will now be linked to the main location of your choice.
Note: To ensure the laboratory is properly linked, you must complete the creation of the location. This means that other required fields, beyond just the associated laboratory field, must be filled in.
